Use digital modes

Radio Bench 0.8 supports RADE V1 digital voice receive and transmit. The mode selector shows its controls.

Digital voice

RADE (Radio Autoencoder) was originally created by Jean-Marc Valin and David Rowe as part of the FreeDV project. Radio Bench does not develop the RADE codec or waveform. Developing paths are labelled experimental.

Use the mode passband that Radio Bench supplies. Confirm audio-device and transmit settings before on-air tests.

Version note

The 0.8 documentation covers the RADE V1 integration. Additional digital modes are planned for later releases.

Experimental status means that behavior can change within the 0.8 family. Keep logs of test conditions when you report a problem.
